In May, 2010, many lives were lost and homes were destroyed in the village of San Antonio Palopo by mudslides resulting from Tropical Storm Agatha. Now, in early September, several days of torrential rains from Tropical Depression 11E have caused mudslides throughout Guatemala.
Once again, the cries for love and healing from our beautiful planet are being felt at a profoundly personal level by the people of San Antonio Palopo. While, thankfully, far fewer lives were lost this time, much of the central part of the village has been destroyed.
We invite you to open your heart, breathe, and look at these photos sent by TOSA’s friend Michael Butler. Michael and his family have evacuated their home in San Antonio Palopo, as have TOSA’s beloved boat driver and caretaker Jose and his family.
Through generous donations from the Self-Ascension community, several thousand dollars have been raised, with all proceeds going directly to the village of San Antonio Palopo. These donations have provided emergency care, medical supplies, food, blankets, and a water filtration system for the village.
We once again invite you to listen into your heart and donate as you feel called to do. San Antonio Palopo needs a “wall of protection”–a retaining wall that can shelter it from future mudslides. Such a project can only be undertaken with your support.
May we all hold presence for these people who are so truly bearing the brunt of humanity’s polarity with such bravery, courage and tenacity. May we all love to the fullest extent of our being.
